| For that totally
unique experience why not play golf at the World's Oldest Playing Golf
Course. Musselburgh Links the Old Golf Course can trace its history back
to 1567 when Mary, Queen of Scots is said to have played it. The first
ever Woman's Competition aimed at the local fishwives was plated at the
Old Course in 1811. The Old Course was one of the three original venues
for The Open, the others being Prestwick and St Andrews and the competition
was played over at the Old Course on occassions between 1874 and 1889.
The Old Course had been home
to a number of prestigious Golf Clubs including The Honourable Company
of Edinburgh Golfers, The Royal Musselburgh, Burgess & Bruntsfield Clubs.
The existing Club is based
in the former Club House of The Royal Burgess Golf Club and is well
placed to provide you with a base with full bar, catering and changing
facilities.
We have put together a number
of options for you to consider and have suggested a combination, which
we think, would be of particular interest; however, the choice is completely
up to you.
